From time to time, the TVTA trail has to be rerouted from the route shown in the guidebook due to a variety of reasons. Here are the current trail reroutes (as of February 5, 2010):

Section 3, Delaware Dump to Delaware
Landowners requested closure due to illegal hunting. Until we can work out alternatives with other landowners, please honour the no trespassing signs that are being erected on the trail, north of the Delaware dump.
DELETE from 3.4 km, Bypass a path on the right to 7.0 km, continue L(West)along Pleasant Street
ADD Follow the path on the right up the hill to the Delaware Dump. Continue NE along Miller Road for 2 Km. Turn L (North) onto Springer Road for 0.7 Km. Turn L (West) onto Longwoods Road for another 0.7 Km. At John Street, turn L (South) for 0.1 Km and then turn R (West) onto Pleasant Street. Follow the guidebook directions at, “ Continue (West) along Pleasant Street”.

Section 6 from the North end of Westdel Bourne - at 2.5 km
DELETE existing trail guide description entirely.
ADD "At 2.5km turn R (east) off the north end of Wesdel Bourne onto Kains Road. Follow Kains Road for 300 m and turn L onto Tigerlily Road. Follow Tigerlilly Road for 50 m and cross over Riverbend Road. Continue along Tigerlily Road for another 260 m to Riverbend Road. Cross over Riverbend Road and continue on paved walkway on opposite side. Follow the footpath as it curves L (north) around the storm collector pond."

Section 6 from the North end of Westdel Bourne - at 3.2 km
DELETE existing trail guide description entirely.
ADD “Pass through the opening in the cedar fence and continue down the open corridor towards the river for approximately 170 m (before reaching the outlet of the drainage spillway). Turn right (east) and follow the trail into woodland.”

Section 8, west end of Springbank Park
The park road just east of Boler bridge was made into a multi-use trail. This resulted in the parking lot at 0.8 km. being separated from this trail and accessed by a new roadway which cuts across the present TVTA trail.
Section 8 at 0.8 km. on page 51 of our guide should be altered as follows:
DELETE “Turn R (south) off the multi use trail before reaching the parking lot. Follow the rough roadway up a slope through the trees. Continue across a grassy area between tall maple trees. There are picnic tables on the left. Turn L (east) onto the gravel pathway. Turn L again to pass on the left of the children’s playground and go down the wood stairway. (The stairway is closed during the winter when the trail continues along the park road then R to the bottom on the stairway.) At the bottom of the stairway turn R (east) onto the gravel footpath.”
ADD “Go straight ahead along the multi use trail past the parking lot. Bear R towards the bottom of the wood stairway. Continue east from the bottom on the stairway along the gravel pathway.”
